A.V. Krishnan is a disciple of T.H.V.Umashankar. Krishnan began his musical accompaniment journey in early 2014 under the guidance of his guru. Since then he has performed in reputed music organizations across Asia and North America.

Krishnan has been focused on maintaining the unique Ghatam fingering technique and accompanying style developed and popularized by his Parama Guru, Grammy winner T.H. ‘Vikku’ Vinayakram.

Krishnan has accompanied leading Carnatic musicians from India. Apart from Carnatic music accompaniment, Krishnan has also performed in unique collaborations with musicians from varying musical styles.

Krishnan is part of the ATMA Ensemble  that blends the range and style of Indian and western instrumentation and whose insistent pulse provides the fuel for a rich and meditative experience.
